The dashboard is ideal for tracking a selection of your site's most important data in one place. You can add literally anything you want to keep an eye on to your dashboard.
You can use widgets in order to display a list of active projects, clients in debt, etc. Using result metrics allows you to display numeric data, for example, project cost, outstanding invoices, sum of weekly quotes, etc. Also, you can use ratio metrics to calculate the ratio between two important results. Charts are for... well, charts.
Now go to your dashboard and start customizing it!
Modifying your dashboard
If you already have a dashboard and want to modify it:
1. Click on the Configure button.
2. Choose, whether you wish to modify the existing dashboard (click on Dashboard options to rename), create a new one (click New dashboard), or Duplicate current dashboard if you like the way it looks, but don't want to make changes to the original one. You can also delete the dashboard if needed.
Just drag and drop the dashlets around on your dashboard to rearrange them the way you see fit.
To modify an existing dashlet on your dashboard, just click on the Modify button on the dashlet.
Adding a dashlet
If your dashboard is brand new and empty, you can start by adding some dashlets. Just click on the Add to dashboard button.
Click on the dashlet option, let's say the Result metric, to add one.
Now select between the options given:
- Choose from bookmark – allows you to choose between already created bookmarks
- Create new result metric – create a brand new metric from scratch
Let's choose the option Create new result metric.
Choose a source for your metric (we've chosen Invoices) and pick relevant filters. Click Next.
Now type in a title for your bookmark and choose the Info to display. The important part is to set a benchmark to your metric. You can either add a goal or a limit and a benchmark number that your result is compared to. This way you'll see right there on your dashboard, whether you're meeting your goals or reaching your limits.
Your saved result metric should look something like this:
Here's an example of a ratio metric, created almost the same way as a result metric:
Ratio metrics show the comparative number of two results. For example, in this case, 30 quotes were issued during the month, which lead to 5 client meetings.
Adding dashlets is as simple as that!
Note! The maximum number of dashlets on a dashboard is 35.
There can be only one... doesn't really apply here. You can have several dashboards. One for you, another for reports and the third for the sales team, for example.
Just choose if you want to create a new dashboard (by clicking New dashboard) or duplicate an existing one (by clicking Duplicate current dashboard) and just tweak it a little.
Even though creating a new dashboard is quite simple, you can also choose a ready-made dashboard from the library. Just click New dashboard from library...
... and select a dashboard that suits your needs by clicking on it.
To switch between different dashboards click on the name of the dashboard and select between the existing ones:
