Scheduling tasks in Calendar
To get a full overview of your daily activities and progress right there in the Calendar, easily plan your daily or weekly activities in one view, you can add tasks and time entries to your calendar. This way you can effortlessly avoid double and overbooking, plus it's convenient to block certain time slots in your calendar to take care of important assignments.
Just click on View, then View options and tick the option Show tasks and time entries and click Display.
As a result, your assignments (tasks with a due date on that day, plus time entries scheduled for that day) are visible on each day with your daily progress.
Just click on the task count to open the task tooltip with your list of assignments.
Simply drag and drop the task from the tasks tooltip to the time slot of your liking.
Just like that, an event is created to your calendar and automatically logged under the original task as a time entry. The user’s availability is taken into account when scheduling a task in the calendar. For example, if the remaining duration of the task is 2h, but the availability for the user is 30 minutes, in case of dragging and dropping the task to the calendar, the event is scheduled for those 30 minutes only.
The original task is left untouched and it's possible to create multiple events from one task by dragging and dropping it from the task tooltip.
When you’re finished with the assignment(s), just mark the original task as done. All the information on the work done will find its way to the Detailed work report allowing you to draw better conclusions, but also bill your customer for the work done right there and then.
