User roles and permissions
User rights – what one sees or doesn't see, can or cannot do in Scoro can be managed by user roles. Go to Settings > Administration > Roles and permissions.
Note! You have to be an administrator of the site to have access to Roles and permissions.
Add different roles like Management, Marketing, Sales, etc. to give different users the relevant access rights. Just click on Add role.
For each user role, decide what people in that role can see and do on your Scoro site. Click on Modules and actions on each role line and tick all the features and actions you would like to give access to.
Tip! You can set up one user role, then Duplicate it (add a name and open it from the list view) and compare it to the original role (the differences are highlighted in yellow) to make changes. This way you don't have to set up each role from scratch.
You can also set up Calendar and tasks access rights to decide how users in the selected role can view and modify the events and tasks of users in other roles.
For that, you have 6 options.
Let’s use the Project manager role as an example to set up access rights and see how they can view, for example, the calendar and tasks of the users in the Management role.
In the left column, you can see the roles (Customer support, Management, etc.) and the respective users under each role.
No access - the users in the Project manager role have no right to view the calendar and task list of the users in the Management role. In that case, the users in the Management role are hidden both in the calendar and task list.
View availability and task titles - the users in the Project manager role can see the available time slots in the calendar and the task titles in the task list of the users in the Management role, all other details are hidden. Also, the Project manager role has no right to add any events or tasks to these users. The project manager role can only see the details of the events and tasks related to them, all other events are shown as “Busy”.
View only status and add - the users in the Project manager role can see the available time slots in the calendar and task titles in the task list of the users in the Management role. The Project manager role can also add new events and tasks to them.
View details and add - the users in the Project manager role can view events and tasks with all details of the users in the Management role. They can add new events and tasks, but only modify and delete those related to themselves.
Full access - the users in the Project manager role can view all event and task details, add new, plus modify and delete any events and tasks of the users in the Management role.
Full access + time locking - the users in the Project manager role can view all event and task details, plus add, modify and delete any events and tasks of the users in the Management role. In addition, they have the right to lock their time, so no more changes can be made to the locked time period. Read more on time locking.
As always, don't forget to Save.
